For guests seeking a more immersive experience, Thaba N’gala offers Euphoria, an open-air sleep-out beneath the stars, as a distinct bedroom choice within the home.

Enclosed only by tall reed screening for privacy, Euphoria has no roof beyond the canopy above it. A black steel four-poster frame stands open to the sky, dressed in a bold, hand-woven ikat throw in deep aubergine and gold, its pattern the one deliberate flourish in an otherwise natural, textured space. A mature euphorbia tree grows directly through the enclosure, its sculptural limbs forming a living canopy overhead, a fitting namesake for the room, and threading dappled light across the bed by day and framing open sky by night.

The en-suite carries the same unforced, elemental quality. An open-air rainfall shower is mounted against the reed wall, and a sculpted black basin sits on a raw-edged timber slab, finished with a brass tap. Underfoot, natural stone and gravel give way to timber decking, keeping the whole space feeling grown out of the bush rather than built onto it.
